Coming in at Number 2, the Meerapfel Meir is a cigar that often puts me on a soap box.
We always state in our reviews pricing does not affect the final score and while it doesn’t, it does affect how often we will grab another to enjoy. In my mind there is no reason a cigar should cost this much and I personally believe that it is purely marketing. This isn’t exclusive to the cigar industry as it is also happening in the liquor industry with growing concern.
The Meerapfel Meir is the second release from the first family of Cameroon tobacco and a lot of people unfortunately don’t know the history of the Meerapfel family and their importance to the cigar industry. If you ever smoked a Fuente cigar with a Cameroon wrapper the wrapper came from the Meerapfel family more likely than not.
Released in 2023 the cigar saw a line extension in 2024. At the time of our review we wrote, “Wow, simply incredible. It’s hard to justify a cigar that costs this much, but, if there was a candidate for justification it is the Meerapfel Meir. Incredibly smooth and complex the cigar is a master class on what cigars can be.”
Congratulations to the Meerapfel family for coming in at Number 2.
