Myers’s Rum, the original Jamaican rum with more than 140 years of tradition, is proud to announce two new collections comprising six spirits: the Signature Legends Collection, with its inaugural “Legacy Blend #1” created in partnership with Foursquare Rum’s Master Blender Richard Seale; and the Signature Cask Collection, featuring five aged rums each finished in barrels previously used to mature the iconic whiskeys from the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection. Each release embodies Myers’s Rum’s rich history and centuries-old tradition of sourcing, distilling and blending the best rums from around the world.
Acquired by the Sazerac Company in 2018, Myers’s leaned into the experimental mindset Sazerac is known for in bourbon production to push the boundaries of the premium rum category. Each of the six new expressions have been crafted by Sazerac Master Blender Drew Mayville, who has worked with all the award-winning products from Buffalo Trace Distillery.

Myers’s Rum Signature Legends Collection – The Legacy Blend #1
The Myers’s Signature Legends Collection is a curated selection of rare, limited-release rums that showcase innovative techniques and collaborative blends crafted in partnership with industry legends. For its inaugural release, Mayville turned to Richard Seale, Master Distiller and Blender of Foursquare Rum Distillery, to create “Legacy Blend #1.” Together, they drew on their 70+ years of combined industry experience to create this masterful blend of Jamaican and Barbados rum that celebrates Myers’s heritage and honors the dedication of all who strive to craft exceptional rums.
Bottled at 94 proof, Myers’s Legends “Legacy Blend” has a classic rum character on the nose, with tropical fruits including ripe bananas, pineapple and mango that combine nicely with deep notes of molasses and dark brown sugar. The palate is rich, full-bodied and sweet, complimenting a smooth and creamy texture with notes of fruit and honey. It features complex flavors of clove and an earthy, almost smoky undertone that leads to a warm finish with lingering sweetness.

The Myers’s Rum Signature Cask Collection features five expressions that finish Myers’s Original Dark Rum in barrels previously used for aging whiskey from the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection (BTAC), renowned for its distillation and aging excellence, including George T. Stagg, William Larue Weller, Sazerac Rye 18 Year Old, Thomas H. Handy Sazerac Rye and Eagle Rare 17 Year Old. Bottled at varying proof points to showcase the unique impact of each barrel, these rums offer an unmatched taste experience, blending the distinct character of Myers’s Original Dark Rum with the subtle influence of each barrel.
- Myers’s Rum Signature Cask Collection – Finished in George T. Stagg Barrels: Finished in a barrel that previously held George T. Stagg, a 15 year old barrel-proof bourbon, and bottled at 100 proof, this rum is bold, with a nose dominated by rich notes of dark molasses, leather, coffee and charred oak influence from the barrel. The taste is the most powerful and complex among the five, featuring deep flavors of dark cherries and brown sugar. The higher proof provides an extra kick yet allows the rum’s essence to shine through. The finish is robust, with a strong oak presence and a lingering smoky character, accompanied by a slight bitterness that adds a layer of complexity.
- Myers’s Rum Signature Cask Collection – Finished in William Larue Weller Barrels: Finished in a barrel that previously held William Larue Weller, a 12 year old wheated bourbon, and bottled at 83 proof, this rum offers a deep, rich nose with brown sugar, butterscotch and ripe bananas. Oak and caramel emerge prominently, complemented by a hint of toasted coconut. The taste is beautifully-balanced with flavors of toffee and dark cherries, while the bourbon barrel adds depth through notes of vanilla, charred oak and sweet baking spices. Lingering bourbon and oak notes provide a pleasant, long-lasting finish while a subtle nuttiness at the end adds an extra layer of complexity to the overall profile.
- Myers’s Rum Signature Cask Collection – Finished in Sazerac Rye 18 Year Old Barrels: Finished in a barrel that previously held Sazerac 18 Year Old, a straight rye whiskey, and bottled at 86 proof, this rum has a vibrant nose featuring notes of rye spice, orange peel and subtle spices. On the palate, the spicy rye character harmonizes with fruity rum notes of banana, pineapple and vanilla. The natural sweetness of the rum nicely balances with the sharpness of the rye, creating a well-rounded flavor profile. The finish is medium in length, with a lingering peppery rye character.

Handy Sazerac, a 6 year old unfiltered rye whiskey, and bottled at 84.5 proof, this rum has notes of pepper, cinnamon, nutmeg and fruit on the nose. The taste is vibrant and well-balanced, featuring tropical fruit flavors. The rye-driven spiciness from the barrels complements the rich molasses and banana notes of the rum, creating a intriguingly layered profile. The finish is spicy and captivating, with a hit of dried fruit and herbal undertones.
- Myers’s Rum Signature Cask Collection – Finished in Eagle Rare 17 Year Old Barrels: Finished in a barrel that previously held Eagle Rare 17 Year Old, a Kentucky Straight Bourbon, and bottled at 86 proof, this rum is complex and inviting. On the nose, subtle vanilla blends with delicate hints of baking spices and dark fruit, mixed with bourbon and traces of dark chocolate. The Eagle Rare barrel lends its bourbon character, while the rum adds tropical fruit and classic rum notes, creating a balance between oak and fruit. The finish is gentle and smooth, leaving lingering notes of vanilla and dried fruit.
Myers’s Signature Legends Collection – The Legacy Blend #1 will be available at a suggested retail price of $49.99 (750ml). Each of the five expressions from the Myers’s Signature Cask Collection will be sold individually at a suggested retail price of $79.99 (750ml). All six will be released in limited quantities through Sazerac’s United States and global distributor networks, which will ship to retailers, bars and restaurants starting in October 2024.
