La Aurora has announced the release of the La Aurora 120 Anniversary Limited Edition in celebration of their official 120th Anniversary (October 3, 1903). For 120 years, La Aurora has been crafting premium cigars that stand on the shoulders of tradition. La Aurora 120 LE is hand-crafted in small batches by expert torcedores with over 20 years of experience and crafted in a beautiful Habano 92-seed leaf wrapper, Dominican binder, and Dominican Republic filler blend (Piloto Cubano, Olor Dominicano, Corojo). The 120 Anniversary LE cigar is super-premium, and a full-bodied smoke that features their Preferidos 1° Double Figurado shape.
“This unique edition is a tribute to the very first Preferidos cigars in 1903, with replicas of the original tubes encapsulating a new, meticulously crafted blend. The design features a perfecto or double figurado shape, similar to what was created 120 years ago, and today is our most premium offering known by many from the colored tubos that encase the cigars which only our most expert rollers are asked to craft,” said Guillermo León, President of La Aurora. “Together, these elements create a perfect synergy of aroma, flavor, strength, and tradition that magnifies the quality of our Dominican tobacco, the craftsmanship of our team of experts and the history of La Aurora.”
This commemorative anniversary release is an ode to the La Aurora roots, from their distinctive Dominican tobacco to their legacy that has spanned generations of the León family for 120 years. With a cedar aroma, the first draw on La Aurora 120 LE reveals smoky flavors of peppered cinnamon and anise. Sweetness then enters the fold with a sweet cocoa and creamy coffee bean, soon evolving into a smooth vanilla finish. A flavor ride to the finish, 120 LE transitions to dry fruit and rich tropical notes, with subtle hints of wild honey and rich earth.
With 2,500 limited edition boxes available, it’s a unique opportunity to experience 120 years of La Aurora craftsmanship. The cigar is expected to hit retail in late Fall (MSRP: $40 per cigar/$400 per 10-count box).
