Aganorsa Leaf has announced a new line of cigars—Aganorsa Leaf Arsenio—in memory of their Master Blender Arsenio Ramos who passed in 2018.
Arsenio was born in Cuba in 1934 and spent his entire life working with tobacco. In Cuba, Arsenio was in charge of processing tobacco, specifically fermentation, for Cubatabaco in Pinar Del Rio. After a half a century of laboring in his mother country Arsenio came to work for Aganorsa in Nicaragua where he spent 18 years establishing Aganorsa’s growing operations and played a crucial role in cultivating the signature flavor and aroma for which Aganorsa is famous. In honor of his memory, Aganorsa will release a favorite, previously unreleased blend of the Cuban master in three sizes in March of 2024 at the Premium Cigar Association (PCA) Tradeshow. Made entirely from Aganorsa Leaf tobaccos, the blend is rich, balanced, and—if there was ever a fitting application of the word—Cubanesque.
“Arsenio was a giant of the Cuban Tobacco Industry,” states Eduardo Fernandez, founder and owner of Aganorsa Leaf. “He was a self-taught man of humble means, a true craftsman. He was a great human being who was instrumental in creating the singular flavor that distinguishes the richness of Aganorsa’s leaf, taking us back to the traditions of a true Habano of old. This blend was his favorite and a tribute to his lifetime of work.”
“We’ve been working on this project for years now because every detail needed to be executed flawlessly.” states Terence Reilly, who serves as Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “We took our time to ensure the final product was worthy of Arsenio and a true homage to his impact on Aganorsa.”
Packaged in boxes of 15, Aganorsa Leaf Arsenio will be produced in three sizes: 5.25 x 54 Robusto, 6 x 52 Toro, and Arsenio’s favorite size: a 6 x 44 Corona. The blend will be produced annually in limited quantities. Production for 2024 will be 2,000 boxes each of Toro and Robusto and 1,500 boxes of Corona.
